Everest Base Camp Trekking – 16 Days
A 16 days trek to Mt .Everest Base Camp Nepal Side, offers a unique vacation, Listed UNESCO Natural world heritage sites, Magnificent landscapes, imposing and prestigious peaks, tapering ridges, and colourful Sherpa villages of the Khumbu region boasts some of the most extraordinary high mountain scenery on earth. This Everest Trekking has been a popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953. We also have the opportunity to hike up to Kala Pathar (5,554m) for one of the highlights of this trek and from here one gains a lifelong memory of an incredible panorama of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse and the majestic Everest, or Chomolungma (Mother Goddess of the World) in Sherpa language. That’s why it is known as Kalapater Trekking too. Collecting unforgettable experience, the trail descends in Sherpa heritages with verities vegetation and rarely Musk dear, Snow leopard’s sport provoking you come to again and again.
After flying in to Lukla, our exciting trek to Everest Base camp takes you via Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar we trek along an interspersed village with magnificent forests of rhododendron the where you can closely observe the views of Everest and then ahead towards Tyngboce monastery (3864m) sits at in a clearing surrounded by mountains and rhododendrons forest, which is a 2 hour climb. Then our trip leads up Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu ice fall before finally making our way back down to Lukla.
To reach this part of the Himalaya within a limited time, we have devised this two week trek to Everest Base Camp which runs directly to and from Lukla.
Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive at Kathmandu
Meet representative of Nepal Travels Group and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour
Guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley’s attractions, which include Major Heritage and pilgrimage spots, o/n at Hotel. (BB)
Day 03: Kathmandu -Lukla- Phakding alt 2610m, 3-4 Hrs
An early start for the dramatic flight through the mountains to Lukla. After lunch we have a short trek to our first night’s halt at Phakding, O/n at Guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 04: Trek Phakding to Namche alt 3470m, 5-6 hrs
Following the Dudh Kosi Valley upstream, we cross and re-cross the river before making a final steep climb to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar (3440m), O/n at Guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 05: Acclimatisation around Namche. Hiking options include a short, steep climb to the Everest View Hotel,
Day 06: Trek to the Tyngboce alt 3700m, 5-6 hrs.
We are the mountain top overlooking Mt Everest and the Gokyo Valley which is the main drainage for the glaciers of Mt.Cho Oyu alt 8201m. O/n at Guesthouse, (BLD)
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche alt 4200m, 5-6 hrs Trek
The trail climbs steadily up valley on forested hillside and through open pasture. There are several refreshment halts en route, O/n at Guest House. (BLD)
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4940m) 5 hrs.
Lobuche reached by continues hiking past frozen rivers where We can view the Khumbu Icefall, Pumori and many smaller peaks as well stone houses sit in an icy wilderness of stunning beauty from ridge tops on the track. O/n at Guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5300m) – back to Gorak Shep (5170m).
Walking along with Khumbu glacier and upto Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5300m. Everest Base camp it the closest place to reach Mount Everest without mountaineering equipment. You might see group of people attempting to climb massive Mount Everest. Then we hike back to Gorak Shep.O/n at Guesthouse. (BLD)
Day 10: Hike up to Kalapattar (5555m) then trek to Periche (4270m), 7 hours.
Difficult but rewarding day of our Everest Base Camp Trek. We wake up early in the morning and start our hike to Kala Pattar at the elevation of 5555m. The climb is challenging but the climber gets the most superb mountain scenery, Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8848m, towers directly ahead and on all sides emerge the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Cholatse, Lhotse and countless others. Then we make a quick plunge to Gorak Shep, a tiny village. O/n at Guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek from Pheriche To Tenggboche (3860m).
All the day hiking down through rhododendron forest from Pheriche to Tyangboche. Beside superb view of green hills, river and great Ama Dhablam we can visit beautiful Tyangboche monastery, an old and famous monastery of Khumbu region, O/n at Hotel.(BLD)
Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m) 6 hr.
Day 13: Namche to Lukla (2840m) 6 hrs.
You will trek back to Lukla along the same path. Here, you will take some rest and celebrate your accomplishment. O/n at Guesthouse, (BLD)
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu
Thirty minutes flight to Kathmandu with beautiful mountain views. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. (Due to bad weather sometime flight couldn’t be stoped so at that time you have to spend your time at Lukla).(BB)
Day 15: Rest day Shopping/ Leisure
Day at free for you shopping or get a massage to get your body back in shape. Or, you could still be in Lukla, if it was a bad weather the day before, O/n at Hotel. (BB)
Day 16: Final departure transfer to airport.
