Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet the autonomous region in China. Lhasa “Land of the Gods” is located at 3650 meters above the see level on the northern range of the Himalayas. Next two days you will enjoy the sightseeing tour of Lhasa where you will explore Jokhang Temple (Tsuglagkhang) – constructed in the 7th century AD, Potala Palace (Phodrang Potala) – A stronghold probably existed on Red Hill as early as the 7th century AD, Norbulingka Summer Palace – located about 1km west of the Potala Palace – The Seventh Dalai Lama constructed the first summer palace in 1755, Drepung Monastery – founded in 1416 by a disciple of Tsong Khapa, was the biggest and richest monastery in Tibet, Sera Monastery – founded in 1419 by one of Tsong Khapa’s (the founder of the Gelupa sect) eight disciples, Tibet Museum Minzulu Road, Lhasa and you will visit Barkhor Street Market – a circular street around the Jokhang Temple in the center of the old section of Lhasa.

Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive at Lhasa (3600 meters), O/N at hotel.
After arrival on Gonggar airport by your Tibetan guide. Take a 1.5 hours drive along 93 kms road leading to Lhasa lying at an altitude of 3660 meters. It's advisable to rest and take it easy for the remainder of the day due to Lhasa altitude.

Day 02

Guided city tour in Lhasa (3600 m), O/N at hotel.
Today, After morning breakfast, you straightway make arrangement tour. Your experienced guide accompanies you to the famous monasteries of Tibet. On your awe-inspiring visit to Sera Monastery. You once again continue exploring Tibetan ancient cultures and civilization as you pay a visit to Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lam. Jokhang temple provides yet another exciting and educative tour. Wandering around Barkhor markets is another major highlight of the day.

Day 03

City tour around Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery (3660 meters), O/N at hotel.
Today, you will get more acquainted with the mystiques of Lhasa. In the morning after breakfast, you will set off the view majestic Potala Palace towering above city of Lhasa. You get to witness unique, pristine and overwhelming array of intricate Tibetan murals, temples, stupas, and tombs of eight past Dalai Lamas from a perfect vantage point. Ancient Tibetan cultures come alive with your every exploration. Later in the afternoon lunch, you will visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery. You can observe nuns and monks chanting and performing religious discourses.

Day 04

Final departure transfer to airport.
Today, After morning breakfast you will drive 2 hours to Gonggar airport, then you will fly to Kathmandu or destination.

HOW CAN I GET TIBET VISA ?

Now individual travelers are allowed into the Autonomous Region of Tibet. The Chinese Embassy will issue the visas. Visas can be arranged from Kathmandu ( Global Holidays Adventure Pvt. Ltd ) easily and we can help you. It is necessary to obtain a travel permit for travel in Tibet. Please carry some passport size photographs plus smaller denomination of US dollars cash for the completions of visa formalities.

This is to notify you for change in the rule of visa applying through Chinese embassy for this year 2013 than of previous year. Unlike previous year there will not be same day visa and visa for individual traveler. We can get visa on normal policy receiving on 4th morning of the applied day; semi-urgent policy receiving on 3rd morning of applied day; and top-urgent policy receiving on 2nd morning of applied day. In case of any emergency to get visa on same day we can manage but you have to pay additional service charge for the emergency assist depending in the situation and feasibility.

IS INDEPENDENT TOUR IS ALLOWED in TIBET ?

Independent tour is prohibited in Tibet. You should take part in an organized ground group or have the local travel operator to arrange for you.

IS IT OK FOR ME TO BATHE EVERY DAY ?

It is not a good idea to bathe immediately you arrive in Tibet in case you catch cold or loss or loss Of energy. You Can bath 1 or 2 days later when your body have acclimatized to the conditions. In fact it very gry and cold at night, so travelers usually choose not to bath.

ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED IN TIBET ?

Credit cards are not recommended as a way of payment in Tibet because they are only accepted by the bank of China, Up-market hotels and large shopping department Lhasa and some other Cities.

WHAT ARE THE HOTELS LIKE IN TIBET ?

In Tibet hotel facilities and service stander may not be as you would expect from a hotel iN other parts of world. Staff will probably not speak much English. Hotel In small cities and Everest Base Camp area or such areas are basic. The will usually have sharing bathroom.

IS THERE INTERNET FACILITIES IN HOTEL ?

Some Hotels rooms, not all, in Lhasa have internet facilities. So you should Inquiry your travel advisor before making decision.
