Located in the Khumbu region, Lobuche peak is a popular and attractive climbing peak consisting of two different summits, the east and the west. It lies close to the beautiful human settlements of Lobuche village. With two different summit altitude, both east and west ridge are connected with each other. Only a sharp gap distant them from each other. The east summit is situated at an altitude of 6,119 m and is considered as a trekking peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) whereas the west summit with an altitude of 6,145 m is considered as an expetition peak by NMA. As this is our peak climbing trip, we will summit the east ridge of Lobuche. Lobuche east has a rocky face with a dark triangle like structure. This dark triangle is over the moraine of Khumbu glacier forming the south ridge.

There are no any official summit records of Lobuche East before 1984. It was officially summited in 1984, April 25th, by Laurence Nielson and Ang Gyalzen Sherpa. Lobuche peak is located in the north east side of Kathmandu valley. Lobuche peak is a worth it climbing peak in the Khumbu region. The summit view from Lobuche peak offers one of the best view of Everest region and its Himalayas. You can enjoy beautiful sceneries of the Himalayas from the peak top. This peak climbing peak will give you beautiful moments and experience with an introduction to high Himalayas of the Khumbu Region. But for these great experiences, you need to be well prepared. As the climbing can be a challenge with the altitude sickness as well as the rugged trails, you need to maintain a good physical and mental health. You should have good experience in high altitude trekking. Some basic information on climbing gears and equipments can be a good thing as you have to be familiar with all the gears and equipments during the climb. These climbing gears may include crampons, ice axe, carabiners, harness and vice versa. Also, basic skills to ascend and descend down using the climbing rope helps a lot during the climb. All these will help you for your proper safety and successful summit climb. Also, we have experts climbers and Sherpa guide who will be guiding you during your whole trip. They will also provide you some basic information on the routes and trails as well as some training about how to handle the climbing gears.

This exciting Lobuche peak climbing trip starts with a flight from Kathmandu, the capital city, to the gateway of Everest, Lukla. You will follow the traditional route to Everest Base Camp. Flying from Kathmandu to Lukla is one of the best flights of your lifetime. This flight is rewarded with great close up view of the Himalayas including mountains ranging from Langtang to Everest region. So make sure you reserve the window seat to enjoy this amazing mountain view. From Lukla, you will follow the trails to Everest Base Camp passing Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakshep. Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport. (1,400 m)

Firstly, you will arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Our office representative will be waiting for you at the airport during your arrival. Private vehicle according to your group size will be sent for your hotel transfer. Your hotel will be located somewhere around Thamel which is a popular tourist hub. We will meet you at the hotel for follow up and small meeting.

During the evening, we will enjoy welcome dinner together with some musical program at a Nepali typical restaurant.

Day 2

Trip preparation at Kathmandu.

You will spend one day at Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. This day, you will meet your trip Sherpa guide who will give you some brief information about the climbing trip. Also, you will gather and check all the necessary equipments including personal gears as well.

You will also have a half day sightseeing tour around the world's heritage site of Kathmandu valley. For the sightseeing tour, our city guide will meet you at the hotel. He/she will guide you throughout the day and make sure to clear all your queries related to the tour. After the sightseeing tour, you will return back to the hotel. Then, you can explore around Thamel or take some rest at the hotel.

Day 3

Scenic flight to Lukla (2,800m); Trek to Phakding (2,652m)

To enter the Khumbu region, first you have to take a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Early morning, you will head towards the airport for Kathmandu-Lukla flight. This is one of the scenic flight offering great views of the Himalayas. So, make sure you book the window seat to enjoy the view. You will land on Tenzing-Hilary Airport of Lukla from where the trek starts. You will meet other crew members there and head towards Phakding for the overnight. Trek up to Phakding takes around 4 hours of normal walk.
At Phakding, rooms will be assigned. You can explore around the village and monasteries after that.

Day 4

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today, you will head towards the capital of Sherpa, Namche Bazar. It will be a short walk of 4-5 hours passing the dense pine and rhododendron forest. Walking along the Dudh Koshi river, you will enjoy beautiful sceneries of the Everest Region with various mountains peaks and high hills. Also, you can enjoy the view of Everest in a fine clear day. This day, you enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO world's heritage site. You will cross suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Finally, after crossing the Tenzing-Hilary suspension bridge, you will ascend uphill and finally reach Namche Bazar.
At Namche, rooms will be assigned and rest of the day is free to explore/rest.

Day 5

 Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazar is a popular place in the Khumbu region. It is the main trade center of the region and also regarded as the capital of Sherpa people. As you have reached upto 3500 m, you need some acclimatization before moving further up. Acclimatization day are important as climbers need to balance their body temperature with the surrounding.
Namche bazar has a number of bakeries, cafe, restaurant and souvenir shops. You can enjoy your day with some coffee and exploring the village. You can chitchat with the fellow trekker and climbers in Namche. Rather than that, you can hike up to Syangboche and Khumjung village which offers panoramic views of the mountains including the mighty Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Kongde RI, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Pumori and many more.

After hiking, you will return to the hotel.

 Day 6

Trek to Tengboche (3,870m).

After an acclimatization day at Namche, your next destination is Tengboche village. It is popular as this village has the largest monastery of Khumbu region, the Tengboche monastery.

After breakfast, you will head towards Tengboche. You will have a normal walk up to Phunki from where you will ascend some uphills to finally reach Tengboche village. The monastery of Tengboche opens from 3pm and visitors are allowed to enter the monastery.
Reaching Tengboche, check-in to the hotel and head towards Tengboche monastery for sightseeing and prayers.

Day 7

Trek to Dingboche (4,360 m)

Tengboche village offers beautiful sceneries of the Himalayas. Early morning, you will join the morning prayers at Tengboche monastery and spend some time to enjoy the scenery. After that, you will return to the hotel and have your breakfast. Then, you will head towards Dingboche for the overnight stay. Trek to Dingboche is comparatively an easy one as you have descend down up to Pangboche crossing Debuche. You will visit the Pangboche monastery and then ascend up to Dingboche.
At Dingboche, check-in and rooms will be assigned. Rest of the time free to explore around the village.

Day 8

Acclimatization day at Dingboche.

At Dingboche, you will have another day of acclimatization. This helps to balance the body and surrounding temperature. Acclimatization at Dingboche will be spend hiking up to Chhukung village which will take around 3-4 hours of normal walk. Passing some stone walled fields, glacier moraines and Bibre village, you will reach Chhukung. The trail is rewarded with a close views of Ama Dablam and Amphu Lapsa. At Chhukung, the Sherpa guide will check the climbing kits and gears as this village is a best place to hire the kits and gears.
After the hike, you will return back to Dingboche and spend the night.

Day 9

Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m).

After an acclimatization day at Dingboche, your next overnight stop is Lobuche village. This day, you will pass the Trekker's Aid post at Pheriche after crossing Duglha. Trekker's Aid post is a small health post which provide treatment and consultation to climbers and trekkers. You will pass Chupki Lhara. Here are some prayer flags and array of stones which are made in the memory of Scott Fischer and Babu Chiri Sherpa (the 10 times Everest summiter). They were perished during the Everest Expedition. Passing them you will cross the Khumbu Glacier moraine and then finally reach Lobuche.

Day 10

Trek to Gorakhshep (5,170 m) and after trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m).

On this day, you will step on the base of world's highest peak, Mt. Everest. Located at an altitude of 5,364 m, you will have a great time around EBC. Firstly, you will trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep where you will check-in at the hotel, leave your backpack and hike to EBC. This day, the trail are a bit confusing so co operate with our guide as he will lead the way to EBC. The trails are rocky and lots of ups and downs. EBc offers dramatic landscape with great views of Khumbu glacier and Khumbu icefall. After spending some quality time at EBC, you will return Gorakhshep for the overnight stay.

Day 11

Hike Kala Patthar (5545m); Trek back Lobuche (4940m).

Today, you will hike Kala Patthar which is the best viewpoint for Everest summit view with the surrounding mountains including Nuptse, Chyantse, Pumori, Ama Dablam and many more. Early morning, you will hike Kala Patthar which will take around a couple of hours. Surrounded by 360 mountain view, you will enjoy the scenery for some time and then retrace the trail upto Lobuche which will be the overnight destination for this day.

Day 12

Trek to Lobuche High Camp (5,400m).

From this day, you will now trace the trail towards Lobuche peak. Firstly, you will trek up to Lobuche High camp for the overnight stay. The trails this day are easier at first but gets tougher moving forward. Beautiful views of the surrounding will make the trek more interesting. You will pass Lobuche base camp walking through the rocky trails and Lobuche glacier. From the base camp, it is another couple of hours to reach the high camp where our crew members will set up the camp site.

The sherpa guide will gather everyone and then provide brief information about the routes and Lobuche peak. This can be considered as a pre climb training. He will make sure to teach you how to handle and use the climbing gears and equipments properly. Learning these and revising them before the climbing can increase your confident whcih is very necessary for the summit scale.

Day 13

Summit Lobuche peak (6119m) and return High Camp.

Today is the summit day of Lobuche peak. So, you will wake up early in the morning. Early morning approach is very important as the wind gets strong during the afternoon which makes it hard to ascend. So, the aim is to scale the summit before noon and descend down safely. Breakfast will be provided before starting the trek. The trails are rugged and rough with rocky surface upto 5800 m. From that point, you will walk on the icy surface of the peak with cramp on and ice axe. There are fixed ropes upto the summit. If there are no fixed rope, the guide will fix the rope for the ascend. Please co operate with the Sherpa guide as he has good experience with the environment of the peak. Reaching the summit, you will enjoy great sceneries of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Chyangtse, Cholatse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and other peaks of Khumbu region. After spending some quality time at the summit, you will retrace the trail up to Lobuche high camp. Please be careful during the descend as well. It is more dangerous and risky while descending. After reaching high camp, take some rest and our crew member will organize a celebration program on your successful summit of Lobuche peak at the camp site. Day 14

Contingency/reserve day.

A reserve day should be included on the itinerary. This will compensate a day if the team face any type of hindrance for the peak climbing such as bad weather, flight delay and vice versa.
If the trip goes with our plan, a reserve day is not required.

Day 15

Trek back to Pangboche (3930 m)

After the successful summit of Lobuche peak, it is time to return back. This day, you will return up to Pangboche retracing all the trails. The crew members will pack up the campsite. You will descend up to Lobuche and return back from the normal EBC trail to finally reach Pangboche. Pangboche is the overnight destination for this day. Rooms will be assigned at Pangboche. Rest of the day, free to explore or rest.

Day 16

Trek back to Namche Bazaar

Like the other day, you will retrace your way back to Namche Bazar crossing the Imja khola and Tengboche. At Tengboche, you will meet the monks and nun of the monastery and greet them goodbye. Again from Tengboche, you will descend down following the trail along the Dudh Koshi River, pass Sansa village and reach Namche Bazar.

Check-in at the hotel of Namche. Remaining part of the day, free to explore around Namche Bazar.

Day 17

Trek back to Lukla

Today is the last day of the trek. This day, you will descend down from Namche Bazar to Lukla, the gateway of Everest. Retracing the same route, you will reach Lukla where rooms will be assigned. At Lukla, you can rest at the hotel and stretch those shaky legs to get relief from the pain.

Day 18

Fly back to Kathmandu.

After an adventurous climbing trip, you will now leave Everest region and fly towards Kathmandu. You will take Lukla-Ktm flight from Tenzing-Hilary airport enjoying the beautiful Himalayas sceneries and wishing a final goodbye to them.
On your arrival at Kathmandu, our office representative will transfer you to the hotel on a private vehicle. At Kathmandu, you can rest at the hotel or you can have an exciting half day sightseeing tour around the world's heritage site of the valley. For that, we will send you our city guide who will explore you around the sites with brief information. After the sightseeing tour, the vehicle will drop you at the hotel. In the evening, we will celebrate your successful summit together at a typical Nepali restaurant.

Day 19

Final Departure

This day, you will return to your own destination/country. We will transfer you to the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule for airport formalities. Until final transfer, you are free to do shopping and explore around Thamel.

When is the best time for Nepal Peak Climbing?

In Nepal, there are two major seasons which are considered prime time for Peak Climbing. These times range from March to May and October to November. During this spring and fall seasons temperatures are moderate and weather tends to be very clear and blue sky. Yela Peak can also attempted during the winter but it is extremely cold and very challenging for the climbers.

Who is the leader ?

Our climbing Sherpa guides are decayed experienced and highly qualified with knowledge of high altitude climbing. Most of our climbers were born in Himalaya and have spent most of their live above the 4000 meters. Our guide are well trained about the technical climbing, customer relationship and responsibilities, altitude sickness, international languages and wilderness First Aid. They are all certified by Nepal Mountaineering Association.

What skill and fitness level are required ?

Lobuche Peak is consider a technical peak with mixed climbing, although many people start this peak for their first Himalayan peak. Training in advance can help you greatly. We recommended you to start your journey before you arrive Nepal. Do your everyday exercise, training on steep ground, off trail etc before the trip. This will not only increase your fitness level but also provides you with the knowledge of similar routes and trails. Start your basic training will improve your fitness level and aerobic capacity for altitude climbing.

We also request you to provide us your honest description of relevant experience and current fitness level. Upon we receive,  we will review your level and respond you accordingly. About this point if we consider there to be any suggestion then we provide a training support Plan to achieve your goal. 

What about the meals?

During in Kathmandu: You can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisine like Chinese, continental, Italian and Indian. The breakfast will be provided in Hotel and one farewell dinner will be provided during in Kathmandu. 

During the trekking: During in mountain your breakfast and dinner will be provided in same guesthouse where you stay overnight. Lunch will be taken en route to the next destination. 

During the climbing: We will cook hygiene and fresh food in our camp and serve you in our dinning tent.

What about the accommodation ?

You will be accommodated 3 star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and best available guesthouse during the trekking and tents while climbing. Most of the teahouse accommodation provide you sharing a bathrooms facilities. For tent accommodation you will be provided foam mattress and toilet will be managed with necessary natural preservation. All our accommodation are twin sharing basis and if you require single room the there will be charge of single supplementary.
