Everest base Camp is the base for operation for climbing on the southern route to Everest's Summit. Khumbu, where the Everest base camp trekking settels, is populated by the renowned high mountain people, the Sherpa who still follow a customary way of life in this area. Is Everest Trekking Safe after the Earthquake ?
The question is very much obvious. And the answer is, Undoubtedly, Yes! The Everest Base Trek is as safe as it used to be, before the earthquake. Though a few damages were spotted on the trail, after the earthquake, the damages have now been fixed. This means you will not have to face any obstructions, while you walk all the way up to the base camp.
Flight Delay in Kathmandu and Lukla
For Everest region Trekking often twin Otter is the primary mode of transport form to Lukla. The flight is depend on the weather. Sometime flight (to and from Lukla ) may be canceled due to the bad weather condition of Mountain or technical problems. In such case Global Holidays Adventure will charter a helicopter to ensure your international flight.
The cost of helicopter charter is not included in your entire tour cost. So you can directly pay to our Kathmandu Office. We accept cash, traveler’s cheques, or credit card (Master Card, Visa Card, National Card only) . You will be given a receipt upon payment so That you may claim the insurance. The begins for US$ 600 to US$ 3500 depending on the number of group.
While traveling in the Himalaya you may suffer for the various health problems, injuries and even the altitude sickness. Hence you have to prepare before upcoming destination is this mountain land. Make that the policy of the insurance company provides should cover the process of giving you the service of Helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of Altitude Sickness or other accidents during your trip.
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuwan airport (1300m), Where Our Global Holidays Adventure's representative meets you,transfer you to hotel near by Thamel. We will explain about your program in evening time. Overnight at hotel with BB basis.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652 m), 3/4 hrs, O/N at Guesthouse.
Transfer to airport at early in the morning for Lukla flight. Flight for Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. THe airfield is at high elevation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about 460 meters. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazar (3440 m), 5/6 hrs, O/N at Guesthouse.
Today, we follow the Dudh Kosi, ascending through Himalayan pine and Doedar cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. Namche bazaar is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dreied meat and textiles. Besides being a superb place to shop for traditional crafts,
Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu, attracting Himalayan and lowland merchats. We will spend two days in Namche for acclomatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 04: Acclimatization day in Namche, O/N at Guesthouse.
This day is reserved for acclimatization and a very slow ascent into thin Air. After breakfast we will start the ascent towards Khumjung. The trail ascends above Namche Bazar and passes through Syangboche (3720 m) where the local airport is located. From a hill top above the airport, you will get your first views of Taboche Peak, Lhotse peak, and Ama Dablam. On arrival at Khumjung(3,780 m), you could visit the Hilary school before stopping for lunch at one of the tea houses. After lunch we will continue ascending the foot path to Khunde (3840 m), here you could visit the local hospital before the 2 hours ascent back to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is Known as the gateway of the Everest region, visit the local museum where you can see the traditional custom of the Sherpa peoples. We will spend a second night in Namche. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLd basis.
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3860 m), 5/6 hrs, O/N at Guesthouse house.
The flat and easy trail leads towards the view of Mt. Everest, then descends deep into the Dudh Koshi valley at Pungki Thanka, from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3860 m). It is the spritual center of the Khumbu. We can see Mt. Everest, Amadablam and its surrounding from khumbu.Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4410 m), 5/6 hrs, O/N at Guesthouse.
Descend through a beautiful forest then cross the Imja khola and trek through the village of Pangboche (3900 m), Perhaps today is the most interesting trekking because you will not lose altitude like on other days and you will enjoy views of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse & other peaks, the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, Known as the ' summer valley'. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLd basis.
Day 07: Second Acclimatization day, O/N at Guesthouse.
This would be your second acclimatization day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100 meters. After breakfast we ascend Nagerjun (5100 m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low. The foot path becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically challenging day- ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude there are good views of Lobuche East (6119 m), Lobuche west (6145 m), Taboche Peak (6367 m), Thamserku (6608 m), Kangtega (6685 m) and Ama Dablam (6856 m). On a clear day you could even see Makalu, the world's fifth highest mountian, including great views of the Pheriche valley. After a short rest we will start the descent back to Dingboche - the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch you should take a well deserved rest, afternoon tempratures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops. We will spend a second night in Dingboche. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4910 m), 5/6 hrs, O/N at guesthouse.
Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, passing the Trekker Aid post at Pheriche (4240 m), staffed by western volunteer docters and supported by the Himalayan rescue association which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continue up the valley, gaining altitude. Come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures if Lobuche (4910 m). Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base camp (5160 m), then return to Gorepahep, 5/6 hrs,O/N at Guesthouse.
After a short climb through meadows, look down on the Khumbu glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapattar, the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks. After couple of hours we will get at Goreksheep, and continue our journey to Everest Base camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs, combined with altitude, this can be a tiring portion- but the journey is worth it.After 3 hrs of hiking we will arrive at Base camp and enjoy views of the Khumbu Glacier and icefall, where Everest expeditions begin, Overnight at guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 10: Hiking to Kalapattar (5545 m),
The best viewpoint to witness Mt. Everest and the spectacular Himalayan range. Then we trek back to Gorekshep for hot breakfast and then descend to Pheriche (4210 m). Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 11: Trek to Namche, 6/7 hrs, O/N at guesthouse.
Easy walk along the Imja Khola, short climb to Tengboche, descend Pungki Thanka and complete steep to Kyangjuma and easier trail to Namche. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
Day 12: Trek to Lukla, 6/7 hrs, O/N at Guesthouse.
The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi river to the small mountian airstrip at Lukla where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at Guesthosue with BLD basis.
Day 13: Fly back to Kathamndu (1337 m), O/N at hotel. Evening time farewell dinner.
After 30 minutes scenic flight we will reach to Kathmadnu. Overnight at hotel with BB basis.
Day 14: Leisure day in Kathmandu or flight delay at Lukla due to the bad weather (For Everest Trekking often twin Otter is the primary mode of transport form and to Lukla. The flight is depend on the weather. Sometime flight (to and from Lukla ) may be canceled due to the bad weather condition of Mountain or technical problems. So we recommend one leisure day).
Day 15: Final departure or start your further activity in Kathmandu.

WHAT IS A TEA HOUSE TREK ?
Tea House are local lodges where you get to eat and sleep during your trek. There are plenty of tea houses across all the trekking routes in Nepal. A tea house trek means that you get to stop and rest each day at a tea house during your trekking period. Unlike camping treks you don't have to carry food, tents and other items during a tea house trek.
Camping trek: Camping treks require us to carry tents, Kitchen gear, food and other equipments. Unlike tea house treks camping treks are more adventures.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR FOR TREKKING ?
In Nepal, there are two seasons which are considered prime time for trekking. These times range from Feb-May and Sep-Nov. There are places to visit during Monsoon season ( June-August), such as Mustang and Upper West part of the Annapurna Circuit, as these treks are in the "Rain Shadow" and virtually untouched by Nepal Monsoon. WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN NEPAL ?
Nepal is an extremely diverse country for its size. The temperature can range from extremely hot ( 37-40C) in the lower Terai regions, to negative temperatures in the northern, mountainous regions. Feb-May and Sep-Nov are prime trekking times due to the lovely climate. There is ample sun in the day time and only slightly chilly at night. Monsoon ( June-Aug) can get very hot and humid-with showers usually in the early morning and late afternoon.

GHA offers trekking opportunities for all every age and fitness level. Our treks are graded on difficulty level, 1 being the easiest and 5 being for advanced trekkers. Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the Hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek leader.
While briefing, please bring passport, 3 copies of passport size photos, travel insurance, writing pen and notepad.
HOW DO I PAY TO GLOBAL HOLIDAYS ADVENTURE ?
After the trip confirmation you will send around 25% advance deposited by wire transfer to GHA Bank Account and remaining you can pay after your arrival by Cash or Credit Card but to pay by credit card there will be extra 4% bank service charge. Now Traveller Cheque is not acceptable as per the rule & regulation of Nepal Rastra Bank. We accept visa card, master card & National Card.
WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION CAN EXPECT IN KATHMANDU AND IN TREKKING ?
In Kathmandu: Here are all kind of Hotel simple to 5* hotel. It's depends on your demand but normally in our trekking package we use standard rooms from 3* or 4* on BB Basis.
During Trekking: You will have teahouse/lodges generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress and a quit blanket. We can offer GHA sleeping baggage if needed but it's good idea to bring your own always. We usually provide you single and double rooms as well as the occasional dormitory. And you will have twin sharing tent with matteress in camping trek.
Toilet Facilities During Trekking: On, Trek commmon toilet facilities are available at tea house. Now some teahouse have attached bathroom.
Shower Facilities: You will have hot shower in all teahouse but some place there isnot hot shower, we will provide you hot water in bucket for shower.
WHAT IS THE GROUP SIZE FOR TREK ?
There are no restrictions on the size of a group. We organize trekking to an individual as well as a group and services will be same.
IS IT POSSIBLE TOORGANIZE MY OWN PERSONAL GROUP ?
It is possible to organize your own trekking group. Simply book with us online or in one of our trekking offices in Bhagawan Baha, Thamel, Kathmandu and we will get your next Himalayan adventure sorted. You may choose to have a private group, or keep it open, in which case other travellers can join your group. We allow up to 8 people to join a group.
DO THE GUIDE AND SUPPORT STAFF SPEAK ENGLISH ?
Most of guides speak fluently English and some speak well. Some of the support staff do speak little English and some do not speak.
DO SOMEBODY CARRY OUR BACKPACK ?
Yes, Our Porters/sherpas will carry you heavy backpack and you will carry only the baypack.
WHAT IS OUR DAILY ROUTINE WHILE IN TREKKING ?
Daily Routine starting from 7 am. Wake-up 7 am, start trek before 8 after breakfast, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm lunch and trek end 3:30 to 4 pm. Time to read or nap before dinner. After dinner there is time to play cards, reflect on all the wondrous moments of your day and talk about tomorrow plan.
WHAT KIND OF FOOD CAN I EXPECT IN TREKKING ?
Most of Teahouse cook a delicious range of mostly vegerarian fare Pasta, Tuna Bakes, Noodles, Potatos, Eggs, Dalbhat, Bread, Soups, Fresh Vegetable ( Variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like Apple Pies, Pancakes and some interesting attempts at custard. You will find a lot of garlic items on the menu, eat some every day because it assists with acclimatization. YOu can always get hot chocolate, tea, coffee, hot lemon as well as soft drinks. Each day dinner and breakfast are used to take in the same lodge you spend the night. Lunch will take on the way to distination.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER AND TEMPERATURE LIKE IN TREKKING ?
Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. Winter ( January and February ) will be bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. It is also important to makes sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any condition. Expert the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 20 degree c to 15 degree c low during day time.
CAN I CHARGE MY CAMERA BATTERIES ON MY TRIP ?
These facilities will be available in most of the places in your Hotel reception by playing some service. Remember to bring your adapters!!

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY ?
All of our guides are trained in basic first aid and can deal with the basic ailments that may occur on trek. In the event of an emergency Global Holidays Adventure will cover initial expenses of any rescue operation. It is a condition of booking that you are adequately insured for such an events as these expenses will need to be recovered from your insurance company. In the most frequented regions there are health posts, which have been established by foreign doctors and many are staffed by overseas personnel.

It is called Namaste or Namaskar. You can say the greeting in words as well as do it using a gesture. Join your palms together and bring them close to your chest and about 5to 7 inches below your chin. The word Namaste has many meanings such as Hello, How are you?, I am glad to see you, nice to meet you, good morning, etc.

A trekking holiday should be about making it to the final quickly. Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation and food.

Yes, there are many options and choice to extend your holiday before or after your main trip. Following trips are suggested for your holiday extensions.
WHAT IMMUNIZATIONS WILL I NEED ?
No vaccinations are compulsory in Himalaya but we do recommend you are covers for Diphtheria & TB, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Typhoid, Polio and tetanus. We are recommend.
The Personal Equipment and items are individual interest & choice. The most important fact that one should keep on mind is that one should have enough clothes to tackle the cold weather in the Himalayas. The following gives you a general idea of the personal items that you can bring for the trek.
In a supported trek, heavy items are carried by porters or yaks and personal belongings that you many need for the day like money, water bottle, rain gear, Camera, sun cream & toilet paper etc. Should be carried by yourself so you are briefed to pack items in two different bags.
Global Holidays Adventure will provide complimentary water and wind proof duffel bag which you can use on the trek and is carried by porters. The duffel bag is yours to keep after the trek. you can leave your bag with your non-trek items at the hotel in Kathmandu and collect them after the trek.

While you are required to bring everything on this list, there are numerous options, brands, and versions of each piece of equipment. Use your experience and the listed features to find the best gear for you. Some of the above equipment’s can be easily found in stores in Kathmandu for cheaper prices.
Please Note: Especially for women, Tight fitting, figure-hugging clothing, such as those made with lycra can often be offensive to local. If you fell these items comfortable to wear then use it on base layer and please pack something to wear on the top of them.
