Ltd. has launched this famous 4WD Drive to the Upper Mustang. After a long time experience of trekking, cycling and horse riding in Upper Mustang, now we are offering private 4WD Jeep tour to Lo-mangthang.

Upper Mustang is popular as the last Forbidden Kingdom. This virgin land is located to the north of Nepal. The windiest and driest treeless plains is situated to the north of Nepal. The jaw dropping views of Dhaulagir, Annapurna range, Nilgiri and other beautiful peaks have made Upper Mustang Trek the majestic joyous ride. This Himalayan kingdom within the Republic Nepal was forbidden until 1992 but these days government of Nepal allows the limited tourism and requires the special permission.

In a sophisticated four wheel drive vehicle we start our journey from either Kathmandu or from the Lake City Pokhara. The quick passing by of the remote houses and the trees along the road enthrall you. The famous mystic holes in the walls of the hills as featured popularly in National Geographic Channel are the curious thing to observe in Upper Mustang. If your trip is in May then the chances of seeing and participating in the famous TIJI Festival can be done. The other highlights of the Upper Mustang Trip are to observe the unique cremation technique of Tibetan origin locals. Itienery Overview

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan ¬ International airport (Kathmandu). Our Global Holidays Adventure's airport representative meets you and transfer you to hotel by the private Vehicle. Our trekking guide will explain about your program in evening time. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Pre-trip meeting and sightseeing around Kathmandu valley visit UNESCO world heritage sites. Specially visit Swayambhunath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupathinath and Boudhanath Stupa. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara and afternoon sightseeing.
Flying hour: 25 minute.
Day highlights: Boating at Fewa Lake, visit International Mountain Museum, Mahendra Cave, Davi's Fall.
Accommodation: Pokhara 3 star Hotel.

Day 04: Fly to Jomsom and 4WD drive to Kagbeni via Muktinath.

Day 05: After official formalities of Special permit we drive to Ghami Village.

Day 06: Drive to Lo-Mangthang.
Driving Hour: 2.5 hours.

Monastery of Mustang Lo Gager Ghar Gompa, Visit Lo-mangthang city, Observe domestic Yaks and cattle caravans, Wonder mountain views and landscape from the passes, Buddhist school, arts, king palace  and local activities.

Day 07: Exploring day.
Highlights:
Visit Chhosar Monastery, Khangchuling cave, Jhong cave, NYFU Monastery, Chhonup Village, Nymagel Village and Tingkar Village a for cave monastery and life, Namgyal Monastery and Summer Palace and local activities.

Day 08: Drive back to Chuksung Village.

6 hours.

Day 09: Drive back to Jomsom.

Day 10: Fly to Pokhara then fly to Kathmandu. Rest of the free for shopping. 
Jomsom Pokhara flight hour:
17 minutes.
Pokhara Kathmandu flight: 25 minutes.

Highlights: Incredible mountain flight.

Day 11: Final Departure day, Our Global Holidays Adventure's airport representative will drop to the international airport by private tourist vehicle.

Useful Informations

Flight delay in Pokhara and Jomsom
For Upper Mustang 4WD trip often twin Otter is the primary mode of transport form Pokhara to Jomsom and Jomsom to Pokhara. The flight is depend on the weather. Sometime flight (to and from Jomsom ) may be canceled due to the bad weather condition of Mountain or technical problems. In such case Global Holidays Adventure organize alternative available road transportation to ensure your international flight.

The cost of rode transportation will manage from the cancellation of flight ticket. Please note that there will be no refund of the flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, if The alternative road transportation is used.

Helicopter rescue
While traveling in the Himalaya you may suffer for the various health problems, injuries and even the altitude sickness. Hence you have to prepare before upcoming destination is this mountain land. Make sure that the policy of your insurance company provides should cover the process of giving you the service of Helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of Altitude Sickness or other accidents during your trip.

About 4WD Jeep
We use 4X4 Toyota Land Cruser for our Upper mustang jeep tour. Regarding the drivers they are very experiece for off road driving. Until now they have 100% sefety records.

Visa Info: Entry Visa fees- at present US$ 25 for 15 days, US$ 40 for 30 days and US$ 100 for three month visa on entry to Nepal. You can take visa after landing Nepal in Tribhuwan International Airport. 


IS SOMEONE GOING TO METT ME AT THE AIRPORT ?
Our airport representative will come to the airport to pick up. We will be displaying a play card Global Holidays Adventure with your name on it. You need a visa to Nepal. You can easily get a visa upon your arrival in TIA airport, Kathmandu on paying US$. 40 for a month US$. 100 for three months.

DO I HAVE PRE_DEPARTURE MEETING ?
Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the Hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your tour leader. 

While briefing, please bring passport, 3 copies of passport size photos, travel insurance, writing pen and notepad.

HOW DO I PAY TO GLOBAL HOLIDAYS ADVENTURE ? 
After the trip confirmation you will send around 25% advance deposited by wire transfer to GHA Bank Account and remaining you can pay after your arrival by Cash or Credit Card but to pay by credit card there will be extra 4% bank service charge. Now Traveller Cheque is not acceptable as per the rule & regulation of Nepal Rastra Bank. We accept visa card, master card & National Card. 

WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION CAN EXPECT IN KATHMANDU AND IN MUSTANG? 
In Kathmandu: Here are all kind of Hotel simple to 5* hotel. It's depends on your demand but normally in our trekking package we use standard rooms from 3* or 4* on BB Basis. 

During Trekking: You will have teahouse/lodges generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress and a quit blanket. We can offer GHA sleeping baggage if needed but it's good idea to bring your own always. We usually provide you single and double rooms as well as the occasional dormitory. And you will have twin sharing tent with matteress in camping trek. 

Toilet Facilities During Mustang: On, Trek commmon toilet facilities are available at tea house. Now some teahouse have attached bathroom.

Shower Facilities: You will have hot shower in all teahouse but some place there isnot hot shower, we will provide you hot water in bucket for shower.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER AND TEMPERATURE LIKE IN MUSTANG ?
Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. Winter ( January and February ) will be bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. It is also important to makes sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any condition. Expert the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 20 degree c to 15 degree c low during day time.

CAN I CHARGE MY CAMERA BATTERIES ON MY TRIP ?
Yes all the teahouses in Mustang they have Charging facility.

IS THERE ANY COMMUNICATION WHILE WE ARE ON Mustang ?
Yes, Namaste mobile network work all the parts of Mustang. Incase of immergency our guide will carry Satalight Phone as well.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY ?
All of our guides are trained in basic first aid and can deal with the basic ailments that may occur on trip. In the event of an emergency Global Holidays Adventure will cover initial expenses of any rescue operation. It is a condition of booking that you are adequately insured for such an events as these expenses will need to be recovered from your insurance company. In the most frequented regions there are health posts, which have been established by foreign doctors and many are staffed by overseas personnel. 

IS GLOBAL HOLIDAYS ADVENTURE'S STAF INSURED ?
Yes, GHA insures all our trekking staff including guide, cook, sherpa and porters. 

The personal equipment and items are individual interest & choice. The most important fact that one should keep on mind is that one should have enough clothes to tackle the cold weather in the Himalayas. The following gives you a general idea of the personal items that you can bring for the trek.

In a 4WD driving tour all the lodges are carried by Jeeps and personal belongings that you many need for the day like money, water bottle, rain gear, camera, sun cream & toilet paper etc. Should be take care by yourself so you are briefed to pack items in two different bags.

Mustang 4Wd Jeep driving is easy so we recommend carry warm clothes. 

MEDICINES AND FIRST AID KITS
(Please not our guide will also carry the first aid kit bag during the trek. However we still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as well.)

  • Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude related headaches.
  • Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  • Immodium or Pepto bismol capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  • Diamox ( Commonly prescribed as acetazolamide) 125 or 250 mg tablets for altitude sickness. Please discuss with uss before starting to take his medicine.
  • 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as mole skin, band-aids, some waterproof tape anti-infection ointments, etc. Your guides will have also more extensive medical gear, but your should have the basics for general use.

MISCELLANEOUS, BUT IMPORTANT !

  • Passport and extra passport photos ( 4 copies )
  • Airline ticket ( Please make a copy and leave on at our office in Kathmandu just in case if you need to change the date of you)
  • Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money & Passport.
  • Lip balm. At least SPF 20, 2 sticks. A string taped to the stick is helpful, to hang around your neck and some are now being sold with a cord already attached. Handy as it avoids you from having to stop and look for it.
  • Sunscreen. SPF 40 is recommended and should be relatively new since it loses its effectiveness over time.
  • Pocket knife or small Swiss Army type.
  • Water purification iodine tablets or polar-pure crystals.
  • Toiletry kit, Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towels, soap, etc.
  • 2 Bandanas
