Upper Mustang also known as mini Tibet is influence by Tibetan culture and tradition. Lies in the northern part of Nepal in Annapurna conservation area Mustang was opened in 1991 A.D for foreigners to do trekking. Geographically mustang is the rain shadow area. The best season for trekking in Upper Mustang is March, May, August, September, October, November and December.

Trekking to the upper Mustang is more fascinating to observe the multiple color flowers, landscape with snowcapped peaks in background. During the trekking we can see the beautiful views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and other peaks. Lo-manthna, the final destination of the trekking, is the capital of upper mustang which is inhabited by Tibetan Buddhist. There are several monasteries near Lo-manthang, most of them are built before fifteen century.

Foods and Accommodation in Mustang:-
Mustang is facilited by many local guesthouses. Guesthouse are cleaned, inside well decorated and they provide blankets. Inside the guesthouse they have very good restaurant where they prepare various foods which you can choose from the menu. Normally the menu is Momo, Noodles, Pasta, fry Potato, Dal Bhat, Pizaa etc.

Mineral water is available during the whole trek, if you want normal water we suggest to keep purification tablets.

People and Lifestyle:-
People in Upper Mustang are influence by Tibetan culture. They wear typical Tibetan dress and follow the Tibetan culture. Most of the trekking areas people they are running local guesthouses and rest of the people are farmer in Mustang.

Festivals:-
There are many festival celebrated in Mustang. The major festivals are Tiji Festival, Yartunf festival, Dhekep Festival, Lha Phewa Festival, Toren Lha Festival and etc.

Trekking Permit:-
Upper mustang is a restricted trekking area of Nepal where you need a special permits for visit. The charge of the permit is Us $ 500 per person for 10 days if the visitors cross 10 days then they have to pay  US $ 50 per day. Special permits is checked in at Kagbeni and out at Kagbeni.

Short and easy way to visit Mustang:
