Beginning with one of the most adventurous flight to one of the shortest runway in Khumbu valley where one could see the beautiful canvas of snow; Lukla airport, the gateway to Everest. Trails in the periphery of Sagarmatha National park following through a lively and vibrant place called Namche Bazzar which is the only way to Everest base camp through hiking or a trek.
This outdoor adventure requires a fit trekker with a strong mentality of challenging the altitude and own physical ability in order to reach the base camp of the tallest mountain in the world. One can experience the great pleasure of walking in the wild that unplugs the drama going on in life and allows us to connect to nature. There is nothing like an experiencing an adventurous trek that is surrounded by beautiful nature and giant Himalayas. They say mountains have the ability to connect to our feelings and emotions as mostly our life is compared to the hills and mountain with its ups and downs and challenges, but is rewarding at the end.
The Everest region is not just famous for the world’s highest mountain but also for its Sherpa people, beautiful villages, great culture and beautiful monastery. Apart from this the natural and colorful flora and fauna beautifies the Sagarmatha national park. On the way a person come across the things like Chorten, Mani wall reflecting the culture of Buddhist people in the Himalayas. However the story of yeti is still a mystery of khumbu region.
Apart from its wealthy nature, the area is also home to an indigenous Sherpa community is known for their hospitality. Hiking through the forest offers the chance to get up close to the traditional Sherpa way of life, distinctive clothing and exquisite food. Various monasteries and art museums, flags and prayer wheels along the way provide calmness to relive the soul in the middle of Buddhist monastic spirituality.

Arrival in Kathmandu
You will be welcomed by our staff holding PLA card with your name on it. You then will be taken to hotel by a private vehicle. There will be small meeting at evening about the trip.

Flight to Lukla, hike to Phadking (2652m 3/4 hrs. walk)
Early morning flight to lukla is itself a lifetime experience. We the hike to Phadking following the greenery and the view of Kusum Kangraru.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m, 5/6 hrs. walk.)
We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through Himalayan pine and Cedar forests, to the vibrant Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. Lately it is a modern town where you could find internet cafes, variety of local shops offering imported as well as local goods. Our stay at Namche will be of 2 nights for acclimatization.

Acclimatization in Namche.
Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu, attracting Himalayan and lowland merchants. You will be staying in Namche for acclimatization where you visit local markets and spend time with your team. After breakfast you will start to ascend towards Khumjung. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks like Lhotse Peak (8414m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On arrival at Khumjung (3780m), you could visit the Hillary School before stopping for lunch at one of the tea houses - the walk takes about 3 hours. After lunch you will continue ascending the foot path to Khunde (3840m), visit the local museum where you can see traditional custom of Sherpa people. We will be staying at Namche for night. This day is physically demanding at times and you should be prepared as the weather is very unpredictable.

Trek to Tengboche (3860m, 5/6 hrs. walk.)
The trail today is flat and easy leading towards the Everest view, then declines deep into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka. After arriving in Punki, climb towards Temboche, the village where the very famous Temboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Everest region, is located. One could also see Chorten and Mani walls of the Khumbu region. Overnight at Tengboche.

Trek to Dingboche 4410m, 4/5 hrs. walk.
Going down the beautiful forest, cross Imja Khola and trek through the village of Pangboche (3900m). With the Himalayas as its backdrop, the monastery in Tengboche is in a perfect location to enjoy the beautiful Himalayan landscape. We descend into Imja River and cross then we climb up to Dingboche. This day is probably the most interesting trekking day because you will not lose altitude like on other days.

Acclimatization day
This is your second acclimation day where we will hike about 6 hours to an altitude of 5100m. We will be ascending Nagerjun hill located on flanks of Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche village. We will climb altitude during day and sleep at low elevation during night. During hike you can enjoy views of peaks like Lobuche East (6119m), Louche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). Also you will see the world fifth highest mountain Mt. Makalu from the top. This day is physically demanding and the main aim of this day is to climb high and sleep low. You will spend a second night in Dingboche.

Trek to Lobuche (4910m, 5/6 hrs. Walk.)
Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, passing the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche (4240 m), staffed by western volunteer doctors and supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. We continue up the valley, gaining altitude. Come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures of Lobuche.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5160m), then return to Gorakshep, (5/6 hrs. walk.)
After a short hike through the grasslands, admire the Khumbu Glacier. Going straight ahead is Kalapattar, the best position to see the entire south side of Everest and the surrounding peaks. After a few hours, we will reach Gorakshep and continue our journey to Everest Base Camp. The altitude doesn't increase much, but there are a lot of ups and downs and combined with the altitude it can be a bit of a struggle - but the hike is well worth. After about 3 hours of hiking, you'll reach base camp and enjoy views of the Khumbu Glacier and Icefall, where Everest expeditions begins.

Hiking to Kalapattar (5545m) and trek down to Pheriche (4210m, 6/7 walk.)
The day starts with a hike up to Kalapattar (5545m), the best viewpoint to witness Mt. Everest and the spectacular Himalayan range. Then trek back to Gorekshep for hot breakfast and then descend to Pheriche (4210m).

Trek to Namche Bazar, (6/7 hrs. walk.)
Easy walk along the Imja Khola, short climb to Tengboche, descend Pungki Thanka and complete steep to Kyangjuma, and easier trail to Namche.

Trek to Lukla, (6/7 hrs. Walk.)
The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu.

Drinking water will be provided in the teahouses during the journey up to the base camp, either from taps, boiling water, or bottled water. We also recommend using steriepen or other water purification solutions.
On usual trekking days, you will be walking for 5 – 6 hours a day. But someday your hike could last up to 8 – 9 hours since it is advised to go as slow as possible, using the right amount of energy for the long duration.
Normally there are common toilet facilities in teahouses and lodges, which are usually neat and clean. Nowadays, some small number of teahouses and lodges offer attached restroom. We will provide you the best option as far as possible.
Normally there are hot water shower services in various teahouses and lodges. In the absence of such facility, the teahouse/lodges will provide you hot water bucket. The payment for the shower has to be made by yourself and the cost varies with the places.
The best season for this trek is October to mid-December and mid-February to mid-June. This trip is not preferred during the monsoon season from June to August except the treks to Himalayan rain shadow like Upper Mustang and Mt. Kailas.
In case you suffer from altitude sickness or any other problems, we will offer you the doctor’s prescribed medicines according to the type of problem facing you. We will descend you and incase of extreme cases, you will get rescued by the helicopter.
Yes, it is absolutely possible to add some more days to the trip. Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation and food.
Any goods you want has to be carried in on the back of a porter or animals like donkey, which is why things are bit expensive than the usual rates. The higher you climb the expensive it is. Lastly it depends on your spending habit as well.
Yes, you will be needing two permits for this trek. You need Sagarmatha National Park permit and a Local Government fee at Lukla.
Ensuring proper acclimatization and wisely designed itinerary and following it thoroughly during the trek will prevent of getting altitude sickness.
