Kongde Peak is a popular trekking peak of Nepal situated inside the Everest/Khumbu region. This amazing peak stands tall at an altitude of 6011 m and is also known as Kwangde RI. This peak is also considered as a part of Rolwaling Himal located at the south western side of Namche Bazar. This Kongde peak is a challenging peak with its altitude and also requires some climbing techniques and skills to summit the scale. This climbing peak is categorized as Group B trekking peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). From the summit of Kongde peak, magnificent views of the peaks of Rolwaling and Everest region can be enjoyed including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Khatang, Numbur, Karyuling and other peaks.
Kongde peak is a challenging and rarely climbed peak of the Everest region requiring some climbing techniques and skills. Climbing this peak can help climbers to initiate their experience in Himalayas for more mountaineering trips and adventure. The trek starts from Kathmandu where you will prepare permits, gears and equipments for the trip. Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal located at an altitude of 1350 m. You will have an amazing sightseeing tour around the UNESCO world’s heritage site of Kathmandu valley. You will have a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla from where you will start the trek towards the Khumbu region. You will walk through the dense forest of pines and rhododendron along the Dudh Koshi river. Unique and ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture can be seen among the people living around the Khumbu region. You will pass various chorten, mani walls and monastery during the trip. You will also cross various suspension bridge over several rivers and streams. Enjoying magnificent mountain views and stunning landscape of the Everest region, you will pass settlements and villages like Monjo, Phakding, Namche Bazar, Thame and Kongde kharka to finally reach Kongde Base Camp.
From Kongde base camp, you will ascend uphill to Kongde high camp. At the high camp, our crew members will organize a pre-climbing training program which will provide you some information about the routes and the techniques to be used during different situations. Information and instruction for gears and equipments will be provided by our Sherpa guide. After the pre climbing training, you will head towards the summit of Kongde peak located at an altitude of 6011 m. You will push the summit early in the morning as the winds get stronger during the afternoon. The summit view of Kongde peak offers 360 views of the Himalayas and snow capped mountain peaks of Rolwaling and Everest ranges including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Khatang, Karyuling, Numbur and many more. After the successful scale of the summit, you will return back the same trail.
As Kongde peak is a challenging peak, climbers are required to have some experience of the high altitude places and also some techniques and skills about technical climbing. Though pre climbing training are given before the summit push, physical and mental fitness is required. Rather than that, this peak climbing trip is filled with great adventure and magnificent sceneries of the Himalayas and its landscape.

Arrival at Kathmandu and Transfer to the hotel.
During your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, our office representative will be waiting for you at the airport. A private vehicle will be sent for your hotel transfer. You will meet our office representative at the waiting spot of the airport entrance and then drive all the way to your booked hotel. Reaching the hotel, you will check in and rooms will be assigned. The hotel will be booked around the popular tourist hub of Kathmandu valley i.e. Thamel. We will meet you at the hotel for small meeting and follow up.
In the evening, we will celebrate your welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with some cultural programs.

Trip preparation and sightseeing tour around Kathmandu.
This day, you will prepare for your climbing trip. Our Sherpa guide will meet you at the hotel who will check all your permits and tickets for the trip. He will also list out all the necessary gears and equipments that are required for the trip. If you have any queries on personal gears then you can consult with our Sherpa guide.
After that, you will have a wonderful sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. Our city guide will meet you at the hotel with a private vehicle used for the sightseeing tour. You will explore around the UNESCO world's heritage site of Kathmandu valley. After the sightseeing tour, the vehicle will drop you at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore around Thamel.

Kathmandu-Lukla flight; Trek to Phakding (2640m).
This day, you will have an amazing mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is also considered as the gateway of Everest which is located at an altitude of 2800 m. Early morning, you will have your breakfast at the hotel. Our private vehicle will drop you at the domestic terminal for Kathmandu-Lukla flight. The flight offers beautiful views of the mountain ranges so make sure you book the window seat. You will land on Tenzing-Hilary airport of Lukla. The flight duration will be around 25 mins. After landing, you will meet rest of our crew members and start the trek. You will walk through the pine and rhododendron forest all the way up to Phakding. You will follow the trail along the Dudh Koshi River. It will take around 3 hours to reach Phakding which is located at an altitude of 2680 m. Reaching there, rooms will be assigned as per your reservation. Remaining part of the day is free to explore around the village.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m).
This day, you will head towards Namche Bazar. This is a popular place of Khumbu region and is also considered as the capital of Sherpa people. Namche Bazar is the main trade route of Khumbu region located at an altitude of 3440 m. Early morning, you will have your breakfast at Phakding. Then, you will start your day's trek. This day also you will pass through beautiful lush forest and cross various suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi River. You will pass various chortens, gumbas and monasteries enjoying the sceneries of the far snow capped mountain peaks. It will take around 6 hours to reach Namche Bazar where rooms will be assigned and you can take some rest at the hotel.

Acclimatization day; Hike Syangboche.
You will spend an acclimatization day at Namche Bazar. An acclimatization day is important as climbers need to balance their body temperature with the surrounding. The goal of this day is to hike higher and stay overnight at low altitude. This day, you will explore around the settlements of Namche Bazar. After that, you will hike to Syangboche which will be a high of around 3 hours. You will enjoy splendid mountain vista during the hike. You will visit the local museum where different species of flora and fauna found in Khumbu region are preserved. After the hike, you will return back to Namche for the overnight stay.

Trek Namche Bazar to Thame village (3840 m).
After the acclimatization day at Namche Bazar, you will head towards Thame village for the overnight. You will have your breakfast at the hotel, Namche Bazar and ascend uphill to get out from Namche Bazar. The view opens up when you get top of the Namche hill. Splendid view of Mt Thamserku, Ama Dablam and Kongde peak can be seen during the trek. You will pass various beautiful forest and settlements like Phurte, Thamo, Samde and finally reach Thame located at an altitude of 3840 m. It will be a trek of 5 hrs. Reaching Thame, you will check-in at the hotel and rooms will be assigned.

Trek Thame to Kongde Kharka 4200m.
Early morning after having your breakfast, you will start the trek. You will descend down for around half an hour to reach Khumbu Electric Power house. Walking for around 15 minutes, you will reach a small village, Pare, a typical Sherpa village. Passing through various bamboo and pine bushes, you will reach Kongde kharka. During the whole trek, magnificent views of the Himalayas including Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku and many more peaks will be enjoyed. It will take around 5-6 hours to reach Kongde kharka.
After reaching Kongde kharka located at an altitude of 4200 m, our crew members will search for a good place to set up the campsite. They will arrange the tented accomodation for the overnight.

Trek Kongde kharka to Kongde Base Camp (4700 m).
This day, you will head towards the base of Kongde peak located at an altitude of 4700 m. It will be a trek of 4-5 hours of uphill ascend. You will walk through the rocky trails and steep uphill from Kongde kharka. Enjoying the magnificent views of the himalayas, you will reach Kongde base camp where our crew members will set up the campsite for the overnight stay.

Trek Kongde base camp to High Camp (5200 m).
After the tented overnight stay at the base of Kongde peak, you will head towards the high camo which is situated at an altitude of 5200 m. It will be a steep uphill climb of around 4-5 hours from the base camp. Enjoying beautiful sceneries, landscapes and the glaciers, you will head towards the high camp. You will walk on the rocky surface which can be snow covered depending upon the season. Reaching High camp, our crew members will set up the tent where you will stay overnight. At high camp, our Sherpa guide will brief you some nformation for the summit push day. He will tell you about the routes to the summit and peak information.

Summit day of Kongde Peak. 6011m.- Back to Kongde Kharka.
This is an important day of the trip as you will be scaling the summit of Kongde peak which is situated at an altitude of 6011 m. As the wind blows stronger during the afternoon, it is always recommended to start your trek early morning. You will have your breakfast at 3 am. After that, you will begin your summit push. Our sherpa guide will be leading you the way to the top. Please co operate with him as he has good experience in this peak and its routes. There will be fixed ropes to climb the peak but if necessary our sherpa guide will lead and fix the rope. You will use your ice axe, crampons and boots are per the sherpa guide's instruction. It will be a challenging push of around 4 hours to reach the top enjoying the 360 views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Reaching the summit of Kongde peak, you will spend some quality time admiring the beauty of the nature and enjoying the scenic view from the top. After some quality time, you will descend down up to Kongde kharka where you will spend the overnight. It will be a total of around 9 hours.

Trek Down to Phakding 2600m./6-7hrs. Lodge.
After the successful climb of Kongde peak, you will now descend back. This day, you will return back to Phakding retracing the trail. Yo uwill descend down from Kongde kharka and pass the dense forest. You will cross various bridges and beautiful settlements during the trek. It will be a trek of 6 hrs enjoying the sceneries and landscape of the great Himalayas. Reaching Phakding, rooms will be assigned as per your reservation.

Trek back to Lukla.
After having an early breakfast at Phakding, you will descend down to Lukla for the overnight stay. Like previous day, this day also you will retrace the trail walking through the same forest and crossing the suspension bridges that you crossed earlier. This is your last day in Khumbu region and the last trek day of the trip. After descending for around 4 hrs, you will reach Lukla where rooms will be assigned. Remaining part of the day, you can rest at the hotel.

Lukla-Kathmandu flight; Transfer to Hotel.
Early morning, you will have your breakfast at Lukla. From there, you will head towards the airport. You will wish final goodbye to some of our crew members and fly back Kathmandu. You will have a mesmerizing views of the mountain peaks for the last time, turning golden with the sunrise. During your arrival at Kathmandu, our office representative will be waiting for you at the hotel with our private vehicle. He will transfer you to the hotel. Remaining part of the day is free to explore around Thamel Bazar and enjoy its ambience. In the evening, we will celebrate your successful climb of Kongde peak with a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant.

Final Departure.
This day, you will return to your own country. You are free to do shopping and explore around the markets of Thamel Bazar until you are transferred to the airport for your final departure. Our private vehicle will come to pick you up with our office representative who will drop you at the airport around 3 hours before your flight schedule.
