Mardi Himal trek is a fabulous trek which introduce you to the Himalayas of Nepal in a very short period of time. This trek especially fits for those trekkers who are time bounded but wants to spend some time admiring the great Himalayas. Mardi Himal trek lies inside the famous Annapurna Region under Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). This wonderful trek takes you up to the base of Mt. Mardi located at an altitude of 4500 m. Mardi Himal (5587 m) is lies just beside Mt. fishtail. The base camp displays magnificent close range view of Mt. fishtail along with Mt. Mardi, Hiuchuli and Annapurna South. Beside this, you will walk through dense lush forest passing various settlements and viewpoints.

This amazing trip starts from Kathmandu which is the capital city of Nepal. From Kathmandu, you will have a scenic flight to Pokhara. This place is well known for its lake and beautiful lakeside. In addition, it is the gateway to various treks of Annapurna Region. You will drive up-to Kande. Kande is the starting point of the trek from where you will head towards Forest Camp via Australian Base Camp, Pothana and Deurali. You will walk though dense rhododendron and pine forest. From Forest camp, you will ascend uphill to reach Low Camp, Badal Danda and finally to High Camp. The scenery opens wide from Badal Danda which displays amazing scenery of the snow capped mountains. You will walk through some rocky trails of the highlands. The base camp is just some hours hike from High camp where you will enjoy beautiful sunrise view and descend down to Siding. From here, you will drive to Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will return back Kathmandu and fly back to your country.

The best season for Mardi Himal trek are Autumn (September-Mid December) and Spring (March-Early June). Snow fall can be experienced during late December. Trekker who wants to have some short time around the Himalayas with limited time are well fit for Mardi Himal Trek. Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu.
On your arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be welcomed by our office representative who will be waiting for you at the entrance. Our private vehicle will be sent for your hotel transfer. The vehicle will drop you to your hotel which will be around Thamel Bazar.
Rooms will be assigned at the hotel. We will come to meet you for follow up. Then, you can take some rest at the hotel.

In the evening, we will have welcome dinner together with some musical programs at a typical Nepali restaurant.

Day 2

Kathmandu sightseeing tour and trip preparation day.
This day, you will explore around Kathmandu valley. Our city guide will meet you at the hotel. Our private vehicle will be sent for your sightseeing tour. You will explore around the UNESCO world's heritage site of Kathmandu valley. These heritage sites have their own historical, cultural and archeological importance. They displays fine skill of art and architecture of our ancestors as well. If you have any queries you can ask with our city guide who will be clearing all your queries.


After the sightseeing tour, the vehicle will drop you at the hotel. Remaining part of the day, you can explore around Thamel Bazar and enjoy its ambience.

Day 3

Fly Pokhara.
Early morning, our vehicle will drive you to Tribhuwan International Airport of Kathmandu. From here, you will have a scenic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. This flight takes around 25 minutes to reach Pokhara enjoying the mighty Himalayas and aerial view of the scattered settlements.
At Pokhara airport, our office representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. You will take some rest at the hotel. Then, you will have some sightseeing tour around beautiful places of Pokhara. Do not forget to roam around Pokhara lakeside.

Day 4

Drive to Phedi; Trek to Pothana (2031 m).
This day, you will have an early morning breakfast and then start your overland drive to Phedi. The drive will be around 1.5 hours via Naudada which is the starting point of the trek. You will start walking from Phedi towards Dhampus. Always begin with a slow pace as it helps to warm up your body first. The total trek duration will be around 4 hours. You will walk through the forest trails up to Pothana where rooms will be assigned as per the reservation. After that, you can relax enjoying the beautiful sceneries seen from Pothana.

Day 5

Trek Pothana to Forest Camp (2460 m).
You will have your breakfast and check out from the hotel in the morning. This day, you will trek up to Forest Camp which is situated in the middle of a dense forest. From Pothana, you will walk though the dense forest of pines and rhododendron. You will pass Deurali which displays beautiful view of the mountain vista. From Deurali, you will walk some uphill inside the forest to finally reach Forest Camp. It will be a trek of around 5 hours to reach Forest Camp from Pothana. You can witness the popular Himalayan villages Ghandruk and Landruk from Forest Camp.

Reaching there, rooms will be assigned and then you can take some rest at the hotel.

Day 6

Trek Forest camp to High camp (3580 m).
This day, you will trek up to High camp which is situated at an altitude of 3580 m. Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. After that, you will start the day's trek. Ascending some uphills from Forest Camp, you will reach Low camp which offers magnificent view of Mt. Fishtail. Low Camp is located at an altitude of 2970 m. After that, you will walk towards BadalDada from where the scenery widely opens up. You will enjoy panoramic views of the snow capped mountains from here. You will walk on some rocky trails from BadalDada. It is around an hour of walk up to High camp where rooms will be assigned. Rest of the day is free to explore around High camp and enjoy the beautiful scenery of snow capped mountains.

Day 8

Hike Mardi viewpoint and back to forest camp (2550 m).
After an amazing overnight at High camp, you will wake up early in the morning and start your hike to Mardi Viewpoint. You will walk though some rocky trails enjoying the surrounding views of the mountain peaks. Some part of the hike are steep but it is only an hour and half to reach the view point. Reaching viewpoint, you will spend some time to capture picture and enjoy the moment. Then, you will descend back to High camp. You will check out from the hotel and retrace your trail up to Forest camp. At forest camp, rooms will be assigned.

Day 9

Trek to Siding village, Drive back Pokhara (750 m).
Early morning, you will have your breakfast at the hotel. Then, you will check out from the hotel and head towards Siding village. This day, you will descend downhill through dense forest. Siding is around 5 hours of downhill hike from Forest Camp. Reaching Siding, our private vehicle will drive you to Pokhara which will take around 2 hours of drive.

Reaching Pokhara, rooms will be assigned. Remaining part of the day is free to explore around the Lakeside.

Day 10

Fly Kathmandu from Pokhara.
This day, you will return back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Early in the morning, you will have your breakfast and then drive to Pokhara airport. You will fly back Kathmandu from Pokhara which will take around 25 minutes. At Kathmandu airport, our office representative will be waiting for you. He will transfer you to your hotel at Kathmandu where you can take some rest after you check-in.

During the evening, we will celebrate your trip success with a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant.

Day 11

Final Departure.
Free to explore and do shopping until you are transferred for your final departure. Our office representative will transfer you to the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule for some airport formalities and ticket check.

HOW CAN I ENTER NEPAL ?

Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and non-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal. There are direct flights from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Doha, Osaka, Shanghi, Mascow, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Karachi, Bombay, Delhi, Culcutta, Paro, Dhaka, Lhasa & Varanasi.

All visitors can enter by Land through any of these entry points on the India-Nepal Boarder.

VISA INFORMATION: Entry Visa fees- at present US$ 30 for 15 days, US$ 40 for 30 days and US$ 100 for three month visa on entry to Nepal. You can take visa after landing Nepal in Tribhuwan International Airport.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL IN NEPAL ?

Because of its elevation, Nepal can divided into three zones-the high mountains, the mid-hills and the flat plains called the Terai. The Everest, Langtang and Annapurna Trekking destinations in the mountains are cool throughout the year. The mid-hills, including Kathmandu & Pokhara, are cool except in the summer months from May to July. Temperatures in these cities during the summer remain much cooler that in many cities of the region. Lumbini, Chitwan and Janakpur in the Terai plains are hot in summer ( March-July) but cold in winter( December- February).

Any month of the year would be good to visit Nepal around the mid-hills & flat plains and September to May is good time for trekking and expedition.

IS SOMEONE GOING TO MEET ME AT THE AIRPORT ?

Our airport representative will come to the airport to pick up. We will be displaying a play card Global Holidays Adventure with your name on it. You need a visa to Nepal. You can easily get a visa upon your arrival in TIA airport, Kathmandu on paying US$. 40 for a month US$. 100 for three
months.

DO I HAVE PRE-DEPARTURE MEETING ?

Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the Hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek leader.

While briefing, please bring passport, 3 copies of passport size photos, travel insurance, writing pen and notepad.

HOW DO I PAY TO GLOBAL HOLIDAYS ADVENTURE ?

After the trip confirmation you will send around 25% advance deposited by wire transfer to GHA Bank Account and remaining you can pay after your arrival by Cash or Credit Card but to pay by credit card there will be extra 4% bank service charge. Now Traveler Cheque is not acceptable as per the rule & regulation of Nepal Rastra Bank. We accept visa card, master card & National Card.

WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION CAN EXPECT IN KATHMANDU AND DURING THE TOUR ?

There are all kind of Hotel simple to 5* hotel in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwon, Lumbini and others places. It’s depends on your demand but normally in our tour package we use standard rooms from 3* or 4* on BB Basis.

WHAT'S THE COMMON FROM OF GREETING IN NEPAL ?

It is called Namaste or Namaskar. You can say the greeting in words as well as do it using a gesture. Join your palms together and bring them close to your chest and about 5to 7 inches below your chin. The word Namaste has many meanings such as Hello, How are you?, I am glad to see you, nice to meet you, good morning, etc.

WHAT ARE THE BASIC NEPALI CUSTOMS THAT I NEED TO KNOW ?

  • When visiting a temple, always circumambulate it is a clockwise direction.
  • Take off your shoes before entering a temple or a Nepalese home.
  • Entrance to some temples is forbidden, so look out for such notices.
  • Seek permission to take photographs inside temples or of religious ceremonies.
  • You can accept a handshake offered by either a male or a female but never offer your hand first.
  • Show decency in dress and avoid any show of public affection.

WHAT IS THE CURRENCY OF NEPAL ?

Nepalese currency is spelled as Nepalese Rupees or Rupee ( Rs) or Nepali Rupee, and in short it is NRS or Rs. 100 Paisa equals 1 Rs. Currently Notes of the following denominations are used 1000, 500, 100, 50, 25, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 Rupees. Coin has not been popular in Nepal hence is almost always ignored in business.

It is illegal to exchange foreign currency with persons and organizations other than those authorized such as Travel Company, Banks, Hotels and Licensed money changers.

DO I NEED TO TIP MY GUIDE AND DRIVER ? HOW MUCH WOULD THAT BEST ?

This is difficult things to tell. It’s up to you from your heart by looking their work and support. Tipping is not required, but a small way to show your guides and drivers thanks for their help. The level of the tip should reflect the level of personal involvement with your guide.

WHAT ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME ON TOUR ?
