Located at an altitude of 5732 m, Yala peak is the closest peak from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It lies in the northern side of Kathmandu at the border of Nepal-Tibet. Renowned as a trekking peak, it is perfect climbing peak for the first time climbers. Those who are new to the Himalayas and begin peak climbing can take a lot of benefit from this peak climb. It is a simple climb which requires very less techniques. New climbers can learn proper way and technique to use climbing gears and equipments like ice axe, cramp ons, boots, climbing rope, harness and vice versa during this trip.

Starting from Syabrubesi, a small town located at Rasuwa district, you will head towards the Langtang valley and then finally to the base camp of Yala peak. The trek up to Kyanjin Gompa is the classic trek of Langtang Valley. You will pass various beautiful human settlements, dense forest, cross various suspension bridges. Interacting with the local Tamang and Tibetan culture and tradition, you will pass places like Tiwari, Pairo, Bamboo, Rimche, Lama hotel, Ghodatabela, Langtang village, Mundu, Sindhum and finally to Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is named after an old monastery of Kyanjin. The Tibetan Buddhist culture of local people is very unique. Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in TIA, Kathmandu.

On your arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, our office representative will be waiting for you with your name tag. A private vehicle will be sent for you as per your group size. You will be transferred to the hotel which will be around Thamel. Thamel is a popular hub of tourist in Kathmandu. Reaching there, rooms will be assigned. We will meet you at the hotel for meeting and further consulting. Rest of the time, you can rest at the hotel or roam around Thamel.

We will offer you a welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with some cultural program during the evening.

Day 2

Trip preparation and Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour.

This day you will spend your whole day around Kathmandu valley, the capital city of Nepal. Firstly, our Sherpa guide will meet you at the hotel. He will provide you some summary information about the trip and Yala peak. Also, he will tell you about proper clothing and wear required during the trip depending upon the season you visit. After that, we will sent you a private vehicle and our city guide for the exciting full day Kathmandu sightseeing tour. He will take you to some amazing historically and culturally rich places around Kathmandu valley which are enlisted in the UNESCO world's heritage sites. These places display some masterpiece of our ancestors handicrafts on metal, stones and woods. They reflect our ancestor's history, culture and tradition too. You will visit places like Swayambhunath (The Monkey Temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan D'square, Boudhanath and vice versa. Our city guide will lead you and give you brief information about the places. He will make sure to clear all your queries and curiosity. After that, you will return to the hotel.

Rest of the day, you can spend your time at the hotel or explore around Thamel.

Day 3

Drive to Syabrubesi, Rasuwa. (Drive approx. 7 hrs.)

To reach Yala peak, firstly you have to reach Syabrubesi which will take around 7 hrs of drive. You will have an overland drive up to Syabrubesi. It will be an exiciting drive as you will enjoy beautiful sceneries of the hills and landscapes during the drive. Passing various settlements, waterfall, forest, hills along with the Trishuli River, you will reach Dhunche where permits to Langtang National Park are checked. Dhunche is the headquarter of Rasuwa district. From there, it is around 1.5 hours of drive to Syabrubesi.

Reaching Syabrubesi, rooms will be assigned.

Day 4

Trek to Lama Hotel (Trek 6 hrs)

Syabrubesi is the gateway to Langtang valley. It is a good marketplace and town for local people around Syabrubesi. At Syabrubesi, you will have early morning breakfast and then head towards Lama hotel. Our Sherpa guide will lead you the way providing brief information about the places. It is an easy trek upto Lama hotel passing beautiful forest,  landslided area andenjoying the sceneries. You will walk through the trails which is right beside Langtang khola which flow passing the Langtang valley. You will pass places like Tiwari, Pairo, Bamboo, Rimche and finally to Lama hotel. Look up for some amazing waterfalls, mad himalayan honey and rocky hills during the trek. Reaching Lama hotel, rooms will be assigned and remaining part of the day you can roam around. Or you can enjoy warm cup of tea at the dining.

Day 5

Trek to Langtang Village (Trek 5 hrs.)

Lama hotel is a beautiful place located inside the dense forest. There are plenty of hotels and lodges of the local people with good hospitality. This day, you will head towards Langtang village after having some breakfast at Lama hotel. The second trek day is also as easy as the first day. It will take around 5 hours of normal trek to reach Langtang village. You will start your trek from the dense forest of Lama hotel. Passing the dense forest, you will finally reach Ghodatabela from where the valley opens up. From this point, you can easily see your next destination. You will pass various small chortens and gumbas during the trek. The old langtang village was destroyed during the massive earthquake of 2015. You will walk on the landslided area where the whole village was destroyed and reach the new settlement of Langtang village where you will spend the overnight. Rooms will be assigned and rest of the day you can simply enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the Himalayas and the Langtang Valley. You can explore around Langtang village and have a close look around the local lifestyle.

Day 6

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (Trek 3 hrs.)

Kyanjin Gompa from Langtang village is an easy trek passing village of Mundu and Sindhum. It will take around 2.5 hours of normal walk to reach Kyanjin Gompa. After having breakfast, you will head towards Kyanjin Gompa. The trails are very easy and you will pass various stupa, gumba and mani wall during your walk. Also, look up for beautiful waterfalls and giant rocky hills beyond your imagination. After crossing a long suspension bridge with a close view of Glacier, you will finally reach Kyanjin Gompa view point. From here, the human settlement of Kyanjin Gompa looks astonishing with the Himalyas background and beautiful yak pasturelands. Reaching Kyanjin gompa, check-in at the hotel. You can explore around the village, taste some local yak cheese and fresh cappucino or latte at the local bakery.

Day 7

Acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa

This day will be an acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa. As you have trekked up to 3800 m, it is very important to have an acclimatization day to balance your body temperature with the surrounding temperature. This help trekkers to aviod Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) which is caused due to high altitude. The main goal of this day is to hike higher than 3800m and then sleep overnight at Kyanjin Gompa. On this day, you will hike upto Tserko RI (5000 m) which is a splendid ridge seen from Kyanjin Gompa. It will take around 4 hours to Tserko RI. The trail is steep and confusing. So please co

operate with our guide and follow him as he leads the way. From Tserko RI, one can enjoy 360 panoramic mountain view which will blow your mind away. Mountains like Langtang Lirung, Ganchempo, Naya Kanga, Dorje Lakpa, etc looks amazing from this view point. Reaching there, you will spend some time at the view point, capture some picture and return back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 8

Trek Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Peak Base Camp (Trek 6 hrs.)

Today, you will head towards the base of Yala peak. It is situated at an altitude of 4,440 m. The trails are a bit hard and rocky. From Kyanjin Gompa, you will approach towards Markhu which is an easy part of the trek. From there, you will ascend uphill and reach Yak kharka, yak grazing pastureland. After that, you will walk through the rocky glacier trail and reach Yala Peak Base Camp. After reaching there, our crew members will set you the campsite. You can enjoy beautiful Himalayas sceneries from the campsite. During the evening, our Sherpa guide will give you some brief information about the peak and the climbing day. He will train you to handle the climbing gears and equipments.

Day 9

Base Camp to Yala Peak Summit; Trek back Kyanjin Gompa (Trek 8 hrs.)

Finally, today is the summit day of Yala peak. This day, you will climb the summit of Yala peak before the afternoon. Afternoon wind are strong and more windier which makes it hard to summit Yala peak during the noon. So, you will approach towards the summit early morning. Please co operate with our Sherpa guide and the team as they will be helping you to lead the way and during difficult situation. After summiting the top, you will have some good time at the top enjoying the beatiful sceneries of the Himalayas including Langtang Lirung, Naya Kanga, Ganchempo, Dorje Lakpa, Langshisha and other langtang ranges. After capturing some pictures at the top, you will then retrace the trail to return back Yala peak. From Yala peak, our crew members will pack up the camping site and you will return back to Kyanjin Gompa for the overnight. Celebration will be done on the successful summit of Yala peak with our Sherpa guide and crew members.

Day 10

Trek back to Lama Hotel (Trek 6 hrs.)

This day, you will return back to Lama hotel where you stayed an overnight before. You will retrace the same trail passing Sindhum, Mundu, Langtang village, Thangshep, Ghodatabela, Riverside to finally Lama hotel. Reaching Lama hotel, you can enjoy the evening gather with the local and talk about their culture and lifestyle.

Day 11

Trek Lama hotel to Syabrubesi (Trek 5 hrs.)

Just like the other day, this day also you will retrace all the way up to Syabrubesi. It will be an easy trek as you will descend down passing the same human settlements, dense forest and the suspension bridges. The total walking duration will be around 5 hours. You can enjoy a warm bath at the hot spring of Pairo while descending down. This can help to relax your body after the long trek and also benefit for quick recovery. After reaching Syabrubesi, you can explore around the market area or relax at your own room.

Day 12

Drive back to Kathmandu (Drive 7 hrs)

On this day, you will drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi driving the same way back. It will take around 7 hrs to reach Kathmandu driving along the Trishuli River passing Dhunche, Nuwakot, Galchi, Naubise, Galchi and finally to Kathmandu. Our private vehicle will transfer you to the hotel at Kathmandu. Remaining part of the day, you can explore around Thamel and do some shopping/ chill around as it will be your last day at Kathmandu. During the evening, we will celebrate your successful ascend of Yala peak at a typical Nepalirestaurant  with farewell dinner and cultural program.

Day 13

Final Departure

Free to explore and shopping until your final transfer to the airport for your flight. Our office representative will transfer you to the airport 3 hours before your flight schedule as you have to complete some airport process and formalities. Safe flight!

When is the best time for Nepal Peak Climbing?

In Nepal, there are two major seasons which are considered prime time for Peak Climbing. These times range from March to May and October to November. During this spring and fall seasons temperatures are moderate and weather tends to be very clear and blue sky. Yela Peak can also attempted during the winter but it is extremely cold and very challenging for the climbers.

Who is the leader ?

Our climbing Sherpa guides are decayed experienced and highly qualified with knowledge of high altitude climbing. Most of our climbers were born in Himalaya and have spent most of their live above the 4000 meters. Our guide are well trained about the technical climbing, customer relationship and responsibilities, altitude sickness, international languages and wilderness First Aid. They are all certified by Nepal Mountaineering Association.

What skill and fitness level are required ?

Training in advance can help you greatly. We recommended you to start your journey before you arrive Nepal. Do your everyday exercise, training on steep ground, off trail etc before the trip. This will not only increase your fitness level but also provides you with the knowledge of similar routes and trails. Start your basic training will improve your fitness level and aerobic capacity for altitude climbing.

We also request you to provide us your honest description of relevant experience and current fitness level. Upon we receive,  we will review your level and respond you accordingly. About this point if we consider there to be any suggestion then we provide a training support Plan to achieve your goal.

What about the meals?

During in Kathmandu: You can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisine like Chinese, continental, Italian and Indian. The breakfast will be provided in Hotel and one farewell dinner will be provided during in Kathmandu.

During the trekking: During in mountain your breakfast and dinner will be provided in same guesthouse where you stay overnight. Lunch will be taken en route to the next destination.

During the climbing: We will cook hygiene and fresh food in our camp and serve you in our dinning tent.

What about the accommodation ?

You will be accommodated 3 star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and best available guesthouse during the trekking and tents while climbing. Most of the teahouse accommodation provide you sharing a bathrooms facilities. For tent accommodation you will be provided foam mattress and toilet will be managed with necessary natural preservation. All our accommodation are twin sharing basis and if you require single room the there will be charge of single supplementary.
