Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival, one of our representatives will greet you with a PLA card bearing your name and escort you to a private vehicle that will transport you to your hotel. Subsequently, we will require your passport to initiate the processing of your Tibetan visa, which is equivalent to a China visa. The processing time for the visa will be approximately three working days.

After having breakfast, you will explore Kathmandu and its culture. You will be visiting several durbar squares, the monkey temple, and other attractions.

You will have a leisurely day in Kathmandu with opportunities for sightseeing and hiking. Kathmandu is surrounded by hills, providing excellent hiking trails for those interested. In addition, you can visit Nagarkot, a popular hillside destination, and the Bhaktapur Durbar Square for some sightseeing.
Kathmandu to Kerung (9 hours)
After having breakfast, you will embark on a journey towards the border at Kerung, where a private vehicle will be waiting for you in the hotel parking lot. The drive to Kerung, covering a distance of 175 km from Kathmandu, will take approximately 9 hours. Throughout the ride, you will be mesmerized by the twisting and turning road surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. You can make stops at any point of your interest to admire the scenery.
Kerung to Lotingri (4,348m).
Today's journey will take you on an uphill drive to the highest plateau in the world, with breathtaking views of the Tibetan landscape. If the weather allows, you can also marvel at the stunning Himalayan scenery. As you travel along the Sino-Nepal highway, you can make a stop at the Milarepa cave. Eventually, you will arrive at Lotingri, having crossed the Thong La pass (5050m) and Lalung La pass (5082m) along the way. This scenic drive, with its awe-inspiring mountain vistas, will make for a memorable day.
Tingri to EBC via Rongbuk monastery. (5200m)
The thrilling journey to reach the Everest base camp takes around three hours by car. En route, we'll have the opportunity to visit the stunning Rongbuk Monastery. At the North Base Camp of Everest, located at an altitude of 5,200 meters, you'll be able to witness the breathtaking views of mountains such as Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Shishapangma (8,013m). It will be an incredible sight and an unforgettable experience. Later, we'll return to Rongbuk Monastery. Please keep in mind that the lodging at Rongbuk Monastery is modest, so please don't expect anything too luxurious.
Rongbuk to Shigatse (3836 m)
We begin our journey to Shigatse after soaking in the morning sunshine over Everest and its surrounding mountains. The drive offers stunning views of the landscape, including the Himalayas, as we pass by monasteries and camps of nomadic herders with their livestock. Upon arrival in Shigatse, we visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, which was founded by the 1st Dalai Lama and serves as the traditional monastic seat of the Panchen Lama. This historically and culturally significant site is also the second-largest monastery in Tibet.
Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m)
The scenic drive from Shigatse to Gyantse is around 2.5 hour covering the distance of around 95 kilometers. Passing through monastery and stupas we reach to Gyantse.
Gyantse to Lasha (3650m) via Karo La Pass &Yamdrok Lake.
We set out on a 200km drive towards Lhasa today, which takes about 4-5 hours to complete. As we drive, we cross the Karo La Pass (5010m) and witness the stunning beauty of the sacred Lake Yamdrok Tso. This freshwater lake spans over 72km and boasts a mesmerizing turquoise color. We take some time to soak in the breathtaking views before continuing our journey to Lhasa, where we arrive later in the day.
Lasha sightseeing
Today after breakfast we visit Potala Palace. It contains the burial stupa of past Dalai Lama and meditation caves of 33rd King of Tibet. It was the winter palace of Dalai Lama, Museum and a world heritage site since 1994. We then visit Norbulingka palace and another museum on Tibet. Later in evening you can chill around enjoying local Tibetan cuisine and some shopping of souvenir.
Lasha sightseeing
Today we will visit Drepung Monastery, which used to be Dalai Lama palace before they move to Potala palace. Jokhang temple happens to be one of the most sacred and important temple of Tibet. Sera monastery is another place that you will be visiting where above 3000 monks reside practicing Mahayana Buddhism. Later in evening you can chill around enjoying local Tibetan cuisine and some shopping of souvenir for your people back home.
Fly back Kathmandu.
Treasuring all the memories from the trip we will fly back to Kathmandu. You will be taken to hotel by private vehicle in Kathmandu. You can enjoy your rest of the time in streets of Thamel, with some good dinner and beverages or even shopping of some souvenir.
Final Departure.
Today one of our representative will drop you off at the airport terminal of Kathmandu.
No, Tibet do not allow tourist to travel solo.
In Tibet, there is a selection of Tibetan and Chinese cuisine such as noodles, momos, yak meat, pork belly, Kung Pao chicken with rice, and more. Additionally, there are restaurants that serve Western cuisine to cater to tourists who visit Lhasa.
In Lhasa, visitors can choose from a variety of accommodations, ranging from hostels to luxury five-star hotels. However, outside of Lhasa, many good hotels are available, but in remote areas like EBC, basic guest houses with limited facilities are the norm.
The climate is not that harsh as many people imagine. The favorable time to travel is from mid-April to June and September and October. Lastly, climate of Lhasa is more moderate then rest of the Tibet and is suitable for all season. However due to administrative works its closed on March.
When traveling on the roads in Tibet, it is necessary to drive or ride on the right-hand side.
An experienced English speaking Tibetan guide who is local and well-known to the cities and you will be exploring around Tibet with him.
