Tiji Festival 2022 is going to celebrate from 27th May 2022 to 29th June 2022. Now our booking is opened for 17 days trekking.

Tiji Festival / Teeji Festival / Tenji Festival is the most popular among the locals of Lo Manthang region of the Upper Mustang. The festival is held every year to mark the victory of god against evil. Global Holidays Adventure specializes in the Upper Mustang area as it is for the trekking, jeep ride or the cultural exchange tourism. In this festival of the Lo-Manthang region people the locals chant the prayers and dances in their traditional costumes. The red, blue and yellow colored dress as well as the prayer flags is used by the Monks. The entire festival and the locality seem magnificent and vibrant.

According to the mythology associated with the Tiji Festival the Dorjo Jono a deity held the fight with his demon father in order to free the kingdom of Mustang from the catastrophe. The upper mustang area is scarce in terms of the water resources due to which the settlement is done in the banks of Kaligandaki River. The scarce water supply was cut and the epidemic was spread by the demon. Dorjo Jono fought hard and chased away the demon from the kingdom eventually leading towards peace and prosperity. These days the festival is carried out in order to restore the Peace in the world also.

Tiji Festival Trek join through Mustang’s fascinating villages, close by Buddhist shrines and temples and in the shadows of the Himalayas most iconic mountains, before landing at the mythical walled city of Lo Manthang for 3 days of dancing at the Tenchi Festival. While Tiji Festival Trekking, the town square loads with characters clad as evil spirits in flashy robes and ghastly masks dancing about, slicing at the air with their swords and articulating spells over spectators. Flight delay in Pokhara and Jomsom

For Upper Mustang Tiji Festival Trekking often twin Otter is the primary mode of transport form Pokhara to Jomsom and Jomsom to Pokhara. The flight is depend on the weather. Sometime flight (to and from Jomsom ) may be canceled due to the bad weather condition of Mountain or technical problems. In such case Global Holidays Adventure organize alternative available road transportation to ensure your international flight.

The cost of rode transportation will manage from the cancellation of flight ticket. Please note that there will be no refund of the flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, if The alternative road transportation is used.

Helicopter rescue

While traveling in the Himalaya you may suffer for the various health problems, injuries and even the altitude sickness. Hence you have to prepare before upcoming destination is this mountain land. Make sure that the policy of your insurance company provides should cover the process of giving you the service of Helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of Altitude Sickness or other accidents during your trip.

Arrival in Kathmandu 1340m.
Welcome to Nepal !
Activities: Welcome with Flower and bottle of Water and drive you to the hotel, just relax for the rest of the day to recover from your long journey.

Day 02

Fly/drive to Pokhara 820m.
Fly Hours: 25 minutes
Driving Hour: 4 to 5 hours by Private vehicle.

Day 03

Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom 2720m and trek to Kagbeni.
Fly Hour to Jomsom: 16 minutes

Views: Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Tukuche (6920m) in the west, Nilgiri (6940m) and the entire Annapurna massif to the south and southwest.

Day 04

 Trek from Kagbeni to Tsaile.
Walking Hour: 5hrs.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Elevation: 3100 M.
Highlights: Entering the restricted areas, Miles of Buckwheat, barley and wheat fields, apple orchards, The scattered white-washed houses of Tangbe, Village of Chhusang, Crossing Kaligandi River by foot.

Day 05

24th May 2022: Trek from Tsaile to Ghiling via Chuksi Cave.
walking Hours: 5hrs
Difficulty: Moderate.
Elevation: 3570m.
Highlights: The views of beautiful landscape, the colorful village, hand crafted Buddhist chortens and walking amongst groves of poplar trees, Chuksi Cave, Views of Annapurna, Nilgiri and Bharkuti Himala.

Accommodation: Lodge with breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 06

Trek from Ghiling to Drakmar.
Walking Hours: 5 hrs.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Elevation: 3450m and 3950m on the pass.
Highlights: Standing on the pass in an alpine wilderness, Views of Himalayas, explore how local make plantation in Mustang, many Bhuddhist stupa, Tsrang monastery.

Day 07

Trek from Drakmar to Lo-Manthang 3840m/7-8 hours via Ghar Gompa and Marang-La Pass.
Hours of walking: 7 hrs.
Difficulty: Moderate to difficult.
Elevation: 3850m.
Highlights: Beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayas from Lo-Manthang, Explore Local market of Lo-Mangtang.

First day observe Tenchi Festival Lo-Manthang 3840m.
Activities: Morning Visit Namgyal Gompa and then on to Tingkhar. Afternoon after 12 Pm celebrate Teji Festival with Local people.

WHAT IS A TEA HOUSE TREK ?

Tea House are local lodges where you get to eat and sleep during your trek. There are plenty of tea houses across all the trekking routes in Nepal. A tea house trek means that you get to stop and rest each day at a tea house during your trekking period. Unlike camping treks you don’t have to carry food, tents and other items during a tea house trek.

Camping trek: Camping treks require us to carry tents, Kitchen gear, food and other equipment. Unlike tea house treks camping treks are more adventures.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR FOR TREKKING ?

In Nepal, there are two seasons which are considered prime time for trekking. These times range from Feb-May and Sep-Nov. There are places to visit during Monsoon season ( June-August), such as Mustang and Upper West part of the Annapurna Circuit, as these treks are in the “Rain Shadow” and virtually untouched by Nepal Monsoon. Our Philosophy is simple. We believe in ” Sustainable Tourism through eco friendly practices’.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN NEPAL ?

Nepal is an extremely diverse country for its size. The temperature can range from extremely hot ( 37-40C) in the lower Terai regions, to negative temperatures in the northern, mountainous regions. Feb-May and Sep-Nov are prime trekking times due to the lovely climate. There is ample sun in the day time and only slightly chilly at night. Monsoon ( June-Aug) can get very hot and humid-with showers usually in the early morning and late afternoon.

WHAT TYPE OF SHAPE DO I NEED FOR THIS TRIP ?

GHA offers trekking opportunities for all every age and fitness level. Our treks are graded on difficulty level, 1 being the easiest and 5 being for advanced trekkers. The level of difficulty is based on the altitude and natural terrain of the trek. The difficulty levels for eash trek can be found on each indivisual itinerary of both our website and brochures.

IS SOMEONE GOING TO METT ME AT THE AIRPORT ?

Our airport representative will come to the airport to pick up. We will be displaying a play card Global Holidays Adventure with your name on it. You need a visa to Nepal. You can easily get a visa upon your arrival in TIA airport, Kathmandu on paying US$. 40 for a month US$. 100 for three
months.

HOW DO I PAY TO GLOBAL HOLIDAYS ADVENTURE ?

After the trip confirmation you will send around 25% advance deposited by wire transfer to GHA Bank Account and remaining you can pay after your arrival by Cash or Credit Card but to pay by credit card there will be extra 4% bank service charge. Now Traveller Cheque is not acceptable as per the rule & regulation of Nepal Rastra Bank. We accept visa card, master card & National Card.

WHAT SORT OF ACCOMMODATION CAN EXPECT IN KATHMANDU AND IN TREKKING ?

In Kathmandu: Here are all kind of Hotel simple to 5* hotel. It’s depends on your demand but normally in our trekking package we use standard rooms from 3* or 4* on BB Basis.

During Trekking: You will have teahouse/lodges generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress and a quit blanket. We can offer GHA sleeping baggage if needed but it’s good idea to bring your own always. We usually provide you single and double rooms as well as the occasional dormitory. And you will have twin sharing tent with matters in camping trek.

Toilet Facilities During Trekking: On, Trek common toilet facilities are available at tea house. Now some teahouse have attached bathroom.

Shower Facilities: You will have hot shower in all teahouse but some place there isn’t hot shower, we will provide you hot water in bucket for shower.

IS IT POSSIBLE TOORGANIZE MY OWN PERSONAL GROUP ?

It is possible to organize your own trekking group. Simply book with us online or in one of our trekking offices in Bhagawan Baha, Thamel, Kathmandu and we will get your next Himalayan adventure sorted. You may choose to have a private group, or keep it open, in which case other travellers can join your group. We allow up to 8 people to join a group.

WHAT IS OUR DAILY ROUTINE WHILE IN TREKKING ?

Daily Routine starting from 7 am. Wake-up 7 am, start trek before 8 after breakfast, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm lunch and trek end 3:30 to 4 pm. Time to read or nap before dinner. After dinner there is time to play cards, reflect on all the wondrous moments of your day and talk about tomorrow plan.

WHAT KIND OF FOOD CAN I EXPECT IN TREKKING ?

Most of Teahouse cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian fare Pasta, Tuna Bakes, Noodles, Potatos, Eggs, Dalbhat, Bread, Soups, Fresh Vegetable ( Variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like Apple Pies, Pancakes and some interesting attempts at custard. You will find a lot of garlic items on the menu, eat some every day because it assists with acclimatization. YOu can always get hot chocolate, tea, coffee, hot lemon as well as soft drinks. Each day dinner and breakfast are used to take in the same lodge you spend the night. Lunch will take on the way to destination.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER AND TEMPERATURE LIKE IN TREKKING ?

Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. Winter ( January and February ) will be bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. It is also important to makes sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any condition. Expert the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 20 degree c to 15 degree c low during day time.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY ?

All of our guides are trained in basic first aid and can deal with the basic ailments that may occur on trek. In the event of an emergency Global Holidays Adventure will cover initial expenses of any rescue operation. It is a condition of booking that you are adequately insured for such an events as these expenses will need to be recovered from your insurance company. In the most frequented regions there are health posts, which have been established by foreign doctors and many are staffed by overseas personnel.

DO I NEED TO TIP MY GUIDE AND PORTERS HOW MUCH WOULD THAT BE ?

This is difficult things to tell. It’s up to you from your heart by looking their work and support. Tipping is not required, but a small way to show your guides and local porters thanks for their help. The level of the tip should reflect the level of personal involvement with your guide.

WHAT ESSENTIAL DOCUMRNTS DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME ON TOUR ?
